Tungsten Carbide Clad Technical Tips

It is important to note that there are different types of carbides available for use in clads. Group Six uses a variety of different powders so that we can provide the best and most cost-effective solution you need.

The three main types of carbide are mono-crystalline WC carbides, Angular W2C/WC Carbides, and spherical W2C/WC carbides. The hardness of these three carbides vary greatly with the mono-crystalline ranging from 1200-2200HV, angular from 2200 to 2400 HV and spherical from 2700 to 3400 HV. The carbides also have very different properties for wear and impact resistance. The forces acting on the carbides, the carbide size and abrasive wear particles are all factors that determine the best tungsten carbide for a given application.
